It’s no coincidence that we speak of ‘looking up to’ people we admire. It’s also true that people who stand tall find it much easier to get the respect of others. Finally, who has never put someone they truly admire ‘on a pedestal’? Three reasons why the best way to put yourself ‘up there’ in other people’s eyes is to find a way to literally put yourself ‘up there’. Have you ever sat at a desk and felt at a disadvantage because someone else was standing over you? One way or another, it’s a pretty universal rule that height brings respect. And in business, as elsewhere, respect often translates into success. So how can we take advantage of this insight? By literally getting ‘up there’; thereby winning the respect of other people and turning that respect into authority, and that authority into sales. Taking to the stage can be a daunting prospect, but most of us get over our initial nerves, usually within the first five minutes. And it’s certainly worth it. Have you ever speculated on what separates the people on the stage from those in the audience? At Internet seminars it’s probably an income factor of ten or a hundred, maybe more. So it makes sense for Internet marketers, as much as anyone else, to make the effort to get into speaking and presenting at seminars. Maybe you should, too. After all, apart from those early nerves, the worst that can happen to you is that nothing much happens. At best, you could find yourself rated alongside the people you’ve been admiring from the floor until today. The kind of authority you acquire gives you tremendous leverage to multiply your earnings through positioning, raising your visibility, selling from the stage and even just directly building your list. From there you could, of course, graduate to staging your own events. Can you imagine what that will do for your career? Roy Everitt www.seminar-secrets.com Comments |
